Simagine Nominee
Bernhard Groiss (Master Student Mobile Computing) is nominated for Gemalto's SIMAGINE Contest. Bernhard's project proposal "Smart Door Bell using Smart Card Web Server" convinced the jury and therefore was invited to participate in a Gemalto Training on Smart Card developoment in Paris/Meudon.
The major idea behind Bernhard's concept is to replace ordinary intercom systems by a mobile phone running a Smart Card Web Server (SCWS) on the SIM-Card. This part of the system handles all the rights and transaction management whereas Near Field Communication (NFC) is used to initiate the intercom connections. This system make intercom installations redundant, as ordinary mobile phones are used. The system itself is design with a major focus on adaptability and scalability.
